First of all, THREE HOUSES IS FINALLY HERE! :D
Second of all, yes this is technically the start of Year 6 but no this isn't the start of Year 6, since I got a while until I start uploading regularly again ;-; But every year I have at least one song that I wanna hype up before the season truly starts, so I thought that the new main theme from Fire Emblem: Three Houses would get some creative juices flowing.
So the only Fire Emblem games I've "played" before (aka had friends play while me and a couple other lads voice-acted the cutscenes) are Path of Radiance and Radiant Dawn with our boi Ike (whom I like), but I've heard a lot of good things about Three Houses. So when a friend showed me that there was an official piano version of the amazingly electronic main theme, The Edge of Dawn, I got right to transcribing it as best as I could for two hands (cuz the original version is like three hands and some synths or something).
So yeah here's just something to [cash in on hype] *ahem* I mean to hold you over until I come out swinging full force with my Year 6 covers, but until then I hope you enjoy this very early season premiere and, if you're playing it, the experience of Fire Emblem: Three Houses!

It all began on a high school band room piano, 5 years ago...
I cant believe another whole year of piano covers has come and gone already. But here we are, at 3/4 of the way to 10k subs and many thousands of views later, so to celebrate the ending of this era of the channel I wanted to do something extra special for yall. I havent done a full piano music video since my Smash Bros Melee Opening music video which has been stuck as the channel trailer for a while, so I decided it was time to take another swing at doing cinematic.
Ive gotten many requests for this song, but until now I honestly couldnt figure out how to arrange Kasss Theme for the longest time. I made a jazz combo version of it once that was OK, and was debating making a lofi hip-hop remix of it cuz chill is cool. But finally, I decided to make a rendition that was both faithful to the original (thanks to Latios212 of Ninsheetmusic for the original transcription! Check below for a sheet music link) and combined a little sampling of everything of my style, including bombastic chords, some flowing chill beauty, and plenty of *a r p e g g i o s*. To truly thank yall for all the support youve shown for my Breath of the Wild piano covers ever since Miphas Theme, Revalis Theme, and even the E3 2016 trailer music, I wanted to make this arrangement as DS Music-esque as possible, and I hope you all enjoy it.
Anyways, thats all folks. I cant believe how much stuff Ive covered over this past year and all the folks met and played music with, whether it be via Pixel Mixers or Materia Collective or at Magfest or just online in general. Thank you all for being such a great VGM community. Ive got some more cool ideas for piano things in mind, so stay tuned!

One of my favorite fighting games of all time, Rivals of Aether was first announced just about 7 years ago with a gameplay trailer showing off the characters Zetterburn and Orcane. Oceanic Breeze happens to be Orcanes stage theme, so I decided to release this arrangement that Ive been sitting on for a few months! Unfortunately I dont have a live performance vid of this, but I hope youll enjoy the pretty Synthesia antics.
With this arrangement, I wanted to take the most fun elements of the original tune and expand on them. Theres lots of use of mixolydian mode within the melody in order to compliment the dance-like chord progressions, which is further enhanced by the high-energy syncopated rhythm lines, basslines, and percussion. I translate those elements as best I could to the solo piano setting, and honestly Im really happy with how it turned out! I hope this performance brings some bubbly happiness into day :D

Time for another track from the DS back-catalog of things I couldve posted last year but never got around to! This track was originally written for the Materia Collective album FLAMESGRACE: A Tribute to Octopath Traveler (link above to stream/download). Im super happy to get to be onboard this amazing album of top-tier arrangements, and extra honored to be able to cover this iconic track. Translating full orchestra + drum set to solo piano was a daunting task, but Im really proud of this arrangement. While a lot of it is heavy and powerful left-hand shenanigans combined with frantic right-hand lines, I wanted to balance it with some delicate lines here and there to give it some nuance too.
First of all, Im terribly sorry that this is just a Synthesia video rather than a full performance. However, theres some funny stories behind that: Originally this arrangement was meant for string quartet and piano, and I had recorded my piano part with video just fine. However, the strings had some issues and couldnt record just before the deadline for the album hit, so I had to flip this on a dime into a solo piano arrangement and get a recording out quickly. Therefore, I only have MIDI and audio for this track. However, if enough of yall are interested then I could try to muster up another string section to get the full version of this up on Youtube one day!
Finally glad I got to cover this track, been wanting to put this on Youtube for years. Unfortunately wont have a DS Dissects for this track due to schedule issues, but if you all want to see one later then let me know in the comments below!
