The last escape chapter before chapter 21x, with my army split between the get out of jail free cards (uneven slot deployment numbers) and the less lucky ones. Minimum deployment number takes priority over fatigue, so my units already fatigued like Linoan won't need a Stamina Drink for a few chapters. While I could complete the chapter in 1 turn, it was better/necessary to stay 1 more turn to save 2 extra units with the Rescue Staff and get the Ensorcel and Speed Ring from 2 houses, which were sent to the convoy by filling my inventory with 14 of my less valued items, including the Thief and Unlock staves from Tina.

With this, I only had to leave 4 units behind, but the exit tickets were really expensive, as Osian, Fergus, and even Robert had to be left behind, but we will see them again soon enough. Who I deployed or not since chapter 10 was carefully planned so that my important units would start at a correct starting position from chapter 18 to 21x. For example in this chapter, the 4 units I left behind needed to have an even deployment slot number, and Linoan needed to have an uneven one.

While getting the Speed Ring was trivial, getting the Ensorcel wasn't, as there are 13 tiles between the house and the closest starting starting position, so a mounted unit (Fergus, Robert or Kane, I will let you guess who I have chosen) can barely reach it after starting the chapter unmounted, but will have to be in range of most of Amalda's units, as well as a few of Conomor's ones and one ballista.

There is a nice forest tile where Fergus could hide to get a decent 74 avoid, but Amalda's units were always attacking from the forest tile left to him, and unless Fergus miraculously killed almost all of them despite having ~54% accuracy in this configuration, they would inevitably block his path to the house. However, the funny thing is that neither Almada's nor Conomor's units will attack or capture the civilian NPCs, so dropping one in that tile ensured that they couldn't use it and in turn wouldn't block my path to the house.

The only thing left was for Fergus to survive the enemy phase. After capture baiting one of the Thoron mage knight, the other two will for some reason in this configuration always attack Fergus from 1 range, allowing him to counterattack. If neither of their ~25% hit attacks connected, Fergus had good chances of survival, as all the Killing Edge troubadours only had ~42% hit 25% crit attacks who dealt almost no damage without a crit, and every other attacks had ~40% or less accuracy. The icing on the cake was that once his job was done, the civilian was the preferred target for the ballista, putting him on par with Kane, Alba and Callion in term of overall contribution to my army.
