Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon and the Blade of Light... along with Fire Emblem: Gaiden. Two games that started a legacy whether they knew it or not! At the very least, they're the original two games in Fire Emblem, my favorite Nintendo franchise, both being on the NES. Or, technically the Famicom, since they were both released exclusively in Japan. But thanks to the unnecessarily limited re-release on the Nintendo Switch, and an amazing fan-translation through emulation, I've been able to experience both as a long-time Fire Emblem fan who prefers the classic games' design anyway! So join me, as we (hopefully) begin a journey throughout the entire Fire Emblem series, starting with the first two entries. And right off the bat, things are kinda complicated...
