In this second installment of the Rainbow Parade series vivid color was the highlight even though it was filmed in 2 strip Technicolor and could not display the full color spectrum. Grandpa Parrot is the Fire Chief and quite proud of his steamer fire engine. While Grandpa polishes it the rest of the flock seems more interested in playing poker. Just as the game is getting underway, a call comes in and everyone hops on the apparatus for a run into the countrieside to try to save the general store. Due to low water pressure and old equipment the fire wins this battle. The flames become living beings destroying some of the fire equipment and chasing the Parrotville Firemen back to their firehouse. The wily fire brigade tricks the flames into running into the firehouse so they can be trapped. But the plot backfires (literally) and the fire house goes up in smoke. The Parottville Fire Brigade seems to accept this situation and the cartoon ends. My copy runs just a bit over 6 minutes so it is possible the ending is missing.
