Maybe I got a little carried away when I finished the new orangutan mask, but I've never used a wig on a mask before, and I thought it would be fun. I also found a great way to make the bumpy texture on the flange with hot glue and paper towels. The spray paint was easy, though. :)
I used the same pattern without the flange (cheek pad) pieces, to make an orangutan that looks like a character from the Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes movie. If you'd like to see how the mask looks with paper 'hair' and without the flange pieces, click here: youtu.be/-og1eGEdo3I

I really do think there's a better way to use the wig hair for the beard, but I haven't figured it out. If you know how to make it work better, please let us all know in the comments below.
I know for sure that the bumpy hot glue skin can be used for other animals. I recently saw a photo of a long-living reptile called a Tuatara with bumpy skin, and I'm sure there are many more. If you can think of any more, please tell us about them. 😊
