This is one of those "weird dumb" Paper Mario challenges I've had in mind for a while. I was originally planning to do this on an [ORIGINAL NINTENDO GAMECUBE SYSTEM], but the speedup tends to make the game sound choppy and unpleasant at high speeds.
However I discovered something really cool when we started playing Paper Mario: TTYD Encore, a mod for the Switch remake for Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door by Tristify. The [OFFICIAL NINTENDO SWITCH FROM THE NINTENDO SWITCH FAMILY OF SYSTEMS] we play it on can unlock the framerate. For the TTYD remake, this speeds up the game, but not the music and sound effects! This makes the remake a far prefered way to do this run.
The funny part is that unlocking the framerate doesn't speed up the game "consistently". Depending on system resources, area size and what's loaded in them, the game will run slower or faster. Though it usually seems to run at double speed or faster. No idea what effect streaming will have, so we'll have to see!
