As we prepare to move on to Splatsville, we can’t help but feel nostalgic for all these years we spent in Inkopolis.
What’s your favorite memory from Inkopolis? Did you have fun during Splatfest? Have a ball in Octo Canyon? Enjoy your trek through the Deep Sea Metro? Enjoy the thrill of Salmon Run? Maybe you made friends along the way. Made a bunch of OCs. Got really invested in the characters and lore. Maybe you joined a team. Or perhaps even met the love of your life?
We want you to tell us about it through your art and animation!
Farewell Inkopolis is a digital multimedia project about the memories we made in Splatoon 2. It will include a Multi Animator Project set to Live Like a Dream by 30 Seconds to Mars and an open digital fanzine featuring writing and artwork.
Since Farewell Inkopolis is a celebration to say goodbye to Splatoon 2, we’re hoping to have it completed by the release of Splatoon 3. However, because the release date is currently unknown, this project will be paced very differently from your average map or zine. If you are interested in participating, please keep in mind that the due date for your part will be both pretty strict and also subject to change depending on when we hear word on the release of Splatoon 3.
That said, this project is about treasuring the good times we’ve had, so please have fun making your part and don’t stress about making it perfect, we’re all here to have a good time 💖

Is this map beginner friendly?
- Yes! While previous map or other animation experience is welcome, it is not required.
Is this map amv or pmv?
- Either! You can animate your part however you like, we just ask that there is at least some sort of movement in your part
How do I get a part?
- Please fill out the google form linked below to apply. Responses will be sent out Feb 15th
How long will I have to make my part?
- roughly 3 months, but this may be subject to change depending on the release date of splatoon 3
When will the final map be released?
- We’re planning to have the whole project finished before the release of splatoon 3 so that we can post it the weekend or so before
What is an open fan zine?
- A compilation of writing and artwork that anyone can join (see carrd for more detail)
How do I apply for the zine?
- Zine applications will run Feb 7th - Feb 21st and the doc to apply is linked below
Can I be in both?
- Yes, as long as you feel comfortable handling both, go for it!
