When I was sixteen years old, I ground and polished a 6" F/8 telescope mirror at the Adler Planetarium in Chicago. For years I thought I wanted to be an astronomer. It took Schroedinger Equations to convince me that what I'd loved was the beauty of astronomy, not stellar atmospheres.

So much beauty. So much awe.
