Some people spend their whole lives choosing between two passions. Danny Forger let the two worlds collide. 🎶
By day, he's a math professor at the University of Michigan, building models and studying complex systems. By calling, he's a pipe organist, after falling in love with the instrument as a child during church.
Now those two interests inform each other. Working with Michigan's Organ Department, Forger applies mathematical models to real performances, uncovering patterns in how music actually gets made and challenging how we think about musical composition itself.
