In his quest for isolation and a new identity in the Alaskan wilderness, Christopher McCandless accidentally stumbled on the value of family, his true identity, and God. Three short clips from the powerful film about his journey reveal that inspiring message.
I post this not only because of the powerful lessons of the movie, but because it features screenplay and direction by Sean Penn. I'm impressed how he stayed true to Christopher’s experience with God and faith - in itself, a testament to the inspiration of this story. Just felt everyone should experience some of that.

Spoiler Alert:
The first clip includes a real person, Leonard Knight (not an actor), who built “Salvation Mountain” – a ministry at a transient encampment in the middle of the desert. The second clip is with Hal Holbrook as Ron Franz, a devout Catholic that Chris encounters on his journey. The third clip is the encouraging note Chris left before he tragically died alone in the wilderness.
