Morgan chose UWM because co-workers highly recommended its master’s of social work program. She decided to enroll in the online master’s because it provided maximum flexibility. She can work full-time and serve as an advisor for a high school robotics team while earning her degree. The online program also allows Morgan to complete her fieldwork near her home in Pewaukee, Wisconsin. Morgan says she appreciates being able to have life balance while working toward her dream of being a child therapist.
Graduates of UWM’s masters in social work program work as clinical social workers, social service administrators, program developers, grief counselors, victim advocates and more. The program offers two tracks: one for students who earned a bachelor’s in social work and one for students interested in changing careers. Fieldwork can be done close to home in a wide range of settings, including hospitals, nonprofit organizations, human service agencies and courts.
