For centuries, the Church tower was the tallest point in the city. But in 1912, a new power rose up to challenge it. In this Minecraft cinematic documentary, we are constructing the heart of the Financial District.
We start with the "Old Authority" a recreation of Nicholas Hawksmoor’s English Baroque masterpiece, St Mary Woolnoth. A structure designed to stand for a thousand years. But then, we build the "Future." A massive, Edwardian Baroque skyscraper inspired by Sir Edwin Lutyens and the Midland Bank. This white stone palace rises directly behind the church, engulfing it in shadow.
This is not just a city build; this is a story of how the skyline changed forever, and how architecture became a weapon in the battle between faith and finance.
