Get the Strymon Timeline MX here: sweetwater.sjv.io/1GgJjR
About a year and a half ago I made a video calling the Yamaha UD-Stomp the greatest delay pedal of all time — and then begged pedal companies to build a modern version. The new Strymon TimeLine MX is that pedal. Two independent delay lines and a Multitap engine that finally does what Allan Holdsworth's UD-Stomp did — with modern headroom, stereo, and no ridiculous power brick.
In this video I show you how I recreate two things I love on the TimeLine MX: Frippertronics-style delay looping, and the Holdsworth / UD-Stomp preset sounds I've rebuilt from scratch. We'll build a basic Multitap patch together, then demo both preset banks.
I'm Bill — I've been chasing mellow, mysterious ambient guitar tones for many years here at Chords of Orion. If Holdsworth, Fripp, and the art of the delay are your thing, you're home.
