Hi guys, my name is Chad Troftgruben and this course is all about creating characters inside of Adobe Animate. I originally launched this course on Udemy way back in 2019. However, it still contains a lot of useful information and still rates pretty highly on Udemy. I’ll be launching one chapter a week. And if you wish to view the course in one shot or gain access to the exercise files, you can always check out the Udemy course which is linked in the description. Thanks for watching and I hope you learned something.

✅ Files Used In This Video

• 22 Chad Vector Animate — Timeline / layer organization (folders + clean hierarchy)
• 23 Chad Vector Animate — Final polish pass (details + fixes + refinements)
• 24 Chad Vector Animate Final — Exporting a final PNG render (+ optional background)

✅ What You’ll Learn In Part 5

• Organizing a complex timeline so it stays readable as rigs grow:
• Create folders for REFERENCES, HEAD, BODY
• Nest subfolders (Hair / Mouth / Eyes / Hands)
• Why some parts (like a ponytail) may need to stay outside a folder to preserve layering
• Optional “main character” folder (ex: CHAD) for a clean top-level view
• Polishing pass (fast fixes that make a big difference):
• Add mouth crease lines across all 8 mouth frames (keyframes + consistent spacing)
• Add subtle under-eye lines (single layer detail)
• Improve ponytail: line work + shading
• Sleeve detail fix: re-add triangle cuff accents + fill/shadow
• Pants/legs cleanup: reduce taper, adjust shape + add line detail
• Scale/adjust arms for better proportion + re-align with pivot guides if needed
• Fix belt/shirt layering so the buckle doesn’t “float”
• Catch last-minute overlaps: leg seams, jacket ordering, collar/neck stacking
• Exporting your final character image (PNG):
• Optional background import (bg.png) + scale placement
• File → Export → Export Image (PNG) and save with your project files
