The build to the 2025 Cocodona 250 continues!
In Episode 2 of the Road to Cocodona series, I take you behind the scenes of my final test race before the big dance. On Saturday, April 12th, I drove out to Tooele, Utah — a small town at the base of the Oquirrh Mountains — to race the Serengeti 50K, a local gem put on by Jimmy Thomas.
Last year at Cocodona, I learned a crucial lesson: this course is super runnable. You can’t just hike your way to a great result — you need to be able to run late in the race. So that’s been my focus in this training block: getting faster, running hard in my B and C races, and building the confidence to push on Day 2, especially from Sedona onward.
In this vlog, I break down how I approached Serengeti, what I learned from the effort, and how I’m feeling heading into the final 3 weeks before race day.
