Arth | Final Fantasy XIII-2 - Valkyrie Lightning vs. Valfodr Lv. 70 / Chichu Farming (1:54) @arthogonal | Uploaded May 2012 | Updated October 2024, 37 minutes ago.
Rather, this is an alternative method for farming Chichu (to do it without Valkyrie Lightning, see: youtu.be/qZ6nOuxaj7k). You can also farm Nanochu using this method, obviously; just replace Item Collector with Item Scavenger II, or maybe even equip a Durable Collector Catalog on Serah.
Slightly slower than using Chichu (youtu.be/NfAF22GaLf4) only because you need Army of One to boost chain, which means you have to either buff or debuff without using Feral Links. This strategy also has more room for error than the Chichu strategy in that if Lightning loses Adrenaline for any reason, or even if Valfodr is able to summon Chichus, you can simply press on and use Legion of One and Ultima Arrow as necessary to extend your Stagger time.
The only thing you need to watch out for is to avoid switching to the Fanatical Dance round too early. I like to play it conservatively and wait until Valfodr unleashes his second string against Noel before shifting (again contributing to the slower time, but again making things safer overall).
Finally, you should probably queue Thunders in Aggression and not do what I did (Blizzard is too slow).
