It happened, it finally happened, I actually defeated Dark Anima without ever touching the Sphere Grid, and without Zanmato.
I did this on an original PS2 International copy, starting my NSG file about 9 years ago back on 2017. By 2018, I was doing Dark Aeons NSG time attacks, and grinding aeon stats from time to time. (youtube.com/playlist?list=PLm1AP6rG4C5e99i4nbPqQcAaJzcx8BemL&si=UAmAvsbC1ngGAay9)
I got inspired to try this by Dangs08 clear of this fight from back in the day, and later on by Adamence's determination to tackle this challenge on the console HD version. Big shoutouts to both and to Karifean for being a walking FFX encyclopedia, helping us developing so many new strats for the fight, and to Grayfox, who made the incredible RNG tracker and helped me understand how to manip this fight. Also additional thanks to my community, Adam's discord, and DoctorSwellman, all for keeping me motivated with this challenge for several months. Finally, thanks to my cat Freya for being my emotional support chungus.
