Final Fantasy VII Revelation just dropped an INSANE new trailer at Gamescom Opening Night Live, giving us our newest look at the final chapter of the Final Fantasy VII Remake trilogy alongside actual NEW gameplay, the return of the legendary WEAPONS, the Highwind, submarine exploration, underwater battles, open-world traversal and a Spring 2027 release window. The new Planet Crisis trailer shows Cloud, Tifa and the party facing a world on the brink of destruction as Meteor closes in, while massive reimagined WEAPONS including Ruby and Emerald Weapon emerge as guardians of the planet and some will apparently return as ultra-challenging endgame superbosses inspired by their original Final Fantasy VII encounters. In this video, we're reacting to the brand-new Final Fantasy VII Revelation trailer before breaking down Square Enix's new press release and screenshots, which reveal that the ENTIRE PLANET will be explorable aboard the Highwind, allowing players to fly across the world and parachute down virtually anywhere with seamless air-to-land traversal. Revelation is also expanding exploration with submarines, Chocobos, grappling hooks and parachutes, while introducing the powerful Typhon summon and a brand-new Fit System that gives characters specialized outfits inspired by classic Final Fantasy jobs, including Cloud and Tifa's Warrior and Black Mage looks, complete with unique abilities and additional power. The final game will also feature new playable characters, expanded combat abilities, choices that can impact aspects of the party's individual stories, and a world where players can decide where to go, who to help and in what order as Sephiroth approaches godhood and the party races to stop Meteor. It's honestly bittersweet knowing we're approaching the end of this incredible trilogy, but between the WEAPONS, Highwind, submarine, massive explorable world and everything Square Enix is teasing for the finale, Final Fantasy VII Revelation looks absolutely ridiculous.
