This is a battle against the Summon Leviathan, on NORMAL MODE, with a team that has completed the game on all difficulties, which is why it will seem easy.
The general strategy is the same of course, it will just take much longer without the proper weapons, materia & limit breaks.
TIPS:
Leviathan is a pain because of how often she moves around & the fact that she can make it tricky for your melee characters to land hits effectively.
- Leviathan is weak to Lightning, so you can use Lightning+Elemental on your weapons to exploit this & if you have a strong MP user, you will want to cast Thundara/Thundaga regularly. (if you don't have a lot of MP yet, you can use Thundara or even Thunder. It won't do as much damage, but it will still help boost pressure)
- I recommend Cloud, Tifa & Aerith in this battle, as with most others.
- Aerith can hit Leviathan from pretty much anywhere. Make sure your team's health is always near full. If you've been levelling up Prayer, it's a good magic alternative, but uses 2 ATB bars.
- If you've been levelling up your Barrier materia, use it and Manaward/Manawall when you see the words Tidal Wave appear. This is unblockable and does massive damage.
- Heal up and whittle her down.
Note: in hard mode, she summons some water spouts and flies around the place while they harass your characters for small, but continuous, rapid damage. They also block any direct attacks. You will have to use magic & ranged attacks to stagger her & this phase will end.
