Previously, Cloud's group finished climbing Mt. Nibel. At the Nibel Mako Reactor, they defeated the Diabolic Variant, another of Hojo's monstrosities. Sadly, they found that Deputy Commissioner Murasaki had died, but they were able to recover his ID card. They transmitted it to Cait Sith, Aerith, and Barret, who used it to enter Shinra Manor. Unfortunately, they fell for a trap that Hojo had left behind and landed in the Mako Research Facility. They will now explore this funhouse that Hojo left behind and seek a way out.
