Hmm, it's always difficult playing a beloved game like this without nostalgia goggles. While this was definitely way better than FF8, I can't help being annoyed at quite a few things. The poor dialogue translation might be the main culprit though, as it makes the many many cutscenes just feel stiff and robotic. I do think the graphics are charming for the time and have no issues with the low poly characters. All in all, the game is "okay", but there are much better JRPGs out there like Grandia.

This game has 989 levels..........
Luckily you get to skip a vast majority of them, but this is still a massive pain to beat. The game itself is actually quite good, and especially impressive that it runs on a Super Nintendo, but boy is this a lot of Populous.
