I did the Vanish + Doom trick against the Hoover to grind until every character got maybe 5 or 6 level ups quickly. Because of that, my party got high enough HP to survive heavy damage by the sub bosses. Vanish + Doom work on bosses in this version, but for the sake of fun, let's not do that.
