Ramza, Delita and Algus advance to Dorter, a trading city. They find themselves in the slum looking for information on the whereabouts of Algus' superior, the Marquis, Mesdoram Elmdor (who is also referred to as the Silver Noble).

For a bit of backstory (and a recap) on Algus, he is in service under Elmdor. When Elmdor was kidnapped, Algus set out to seek help from Ramza's brother Dycedarg. However, Algue was ambushed by a bunch of thieves on his way. "Good fortune" would have it that Ramza and Delita were passing through the area when this happened. Algus was finally able to meet Dycedarg with the help of Ramza, but Dycedarg didn't want to act hastily and told Algus to remember his rank, as Algus is just a squire with no knighthood title. Algus gets to meet Ramza's other sibilings, Alma and Zalbag, as well as Delita's sister Teta. Zalbag spills some important information (intentionally?) and walks away stating how boring it is to guard castles. The three immediately set out upon hearing this information, taking it upon themselves to save Elmdor.

A new member has been added to the team. Meet Sammy, a lively young lass with an unbreakable spirit and head, as well as heart of gold (I tend to think so as she has a tendency to steal gil out of enemies' pockets without much trouble). She has considerable agility and has pretty solid skill with a bow and arrow. Direct combat isn't her strong point, but she someday wishes she will be able to fight hand to hand.
