Prairie Edge Service | Final Build converting 120V single phase bench grinder to variable speed belt grinder using a VFD @prairieedgeservice | Uploaded February 2023 | Updated October 2024, 2 hours ago.
This is a continuation of the previous video exploring the possibility of using a VFD with 120V single phase input power and producing 120V 3 phase output to drive a permanent split capacitor (PSC) AC induction motor 1750 RPM in my grinder. This is my final build configuration in converting the grinder to use a 2x36 belt grinder attachment offered my multitool. The VFD is programmed to drive the motor winding direct from the VFC. The start/run capacitor is totally removed. The VFD controls both Frequency and Voltage to drive the motor with variable speed from 200RPM to 3000 RPM.
