CASA is run by trained volunteers who care about the well-being and agency of children in the foster care system. Since being founded in Seattle, this nonprofit has spread to communities across 49 states.
When we set out to shoot a PSA for this organization, we knew we wanted to focus on the children who are at the heart of CASA’s mission. So, as we crafted a storyline and script, the child in the PSA became the emotional center of the project.
In Part 1 of this Tips & Tricks video, we’re giving you a behind-the-scenes look at how we staged the lighting, directed the talent, and maneuvered around the set to get all of the shots we needed.
We also talk about the importance of making sure that your talent is in a good headspace when filming, especially when dealing with sensitive topics.
