Not all window film installs the same, and it usually has nothing to do with the film itself. In this video, Ralph explains pressure sensitive adhesive and why some films bond fast while others take more time, even though they all fully cure and stick to the glass.
Most installation problems come down to understanding the adhesive you’re working with and how you mix your slip solution. Add too much soap and one film won’t stick. Use too little and another will grab too fast. Water quality matters too, which is why starting with distilled water makes a difference.
If you understand the adhesive and adjust your technique, installation gets easier. You don’t have to switch products, just know how to use what you like.
