Pests and plant diseases threaten the livelihood of many farmers and up to 40% of crops are lost because of them every year.
To prevent loss of food and income, the Plantwise programme led by the Centre for Agriculture and Biosciences International organises plant clinics where farmers can bring infected plants to specially trained plant doctors who diagnose the pests affecting the crops and suggest treatments.
