David Fincher's FIGHT CLUB detonated in 1999 on the big screen - and didn't attract anywhere near the audience that its expense had required. It had snuck through 20th Century Fox anyway, with its then owner, Rupert Murdoch, absolutely not a fan of the film. Furthermore, there was a little dig at him in the infamous finale.
