BACKGROUND:
I got so sick of the Fifty Shades trailer playing endlessly on TV, that I decided to use VFX to improve upon it - by making it even kinkier. When I heard the Teletubbies are being rebooted in 2015, I knew what I had to do. I consider it payback for all the years I had to watch that show with my kids.
PRODUCTION:
This video took 40+ man hours to produce, including many painful hours scrutinizing original Teletubbies footage to find scenes where Po's image could be cleanly extracted and her actions matched to events from the trailer. All the visual effects were done in Adobe After Effects. Extracting Po from original TV footage and removing the Fifty Shades actress from the trailer were very tedious processes. Every 1 second of VFX footage in this video required at least 2 hours of effort! Scenes, music and dialog from both the US and UK movie trailers also had to be extensively re-edited to make them work in this context. Watch the VFX Reel now...
