Colapinto and Alpine immediately denounced the comments made and distanced themselves from the actions of individuals posting the online abuse. The FIA responded in kind, condemning the abuse towards the Stewards in a statement through its United Against Online Abuse initiative. The UAOA was launched in 2023 following abuse directed towards a Steward after the USGP, with the FIA offering support to the recipients of abuse, including drivers such as Kimi Antonelli and Esteban Ocon. In response to the original comments Summers made, the FIA has sought legal action and also contacted other organisations that he is associated with.
