We're chopping off a whole second with this one!
I honestly have no clue how the time has gotten this low. I'm starting to wonder if there was some movement physics change at some point that allows us to be faster... it's hard to believe my runs from last year were so imperfect still, and to be honest I don't feel like I've become that much better, although my consistency has definitely improved a lot.
That being said, I need to note that I'm using a new way to measure time that is far more accurate than before. With the traditional way of checking times there was a ~2 frame margin of error caused by a lack of accuracy, given the minimum unit of measure was 1/60 of a second. This new way supposedly shows the exact time, down to the millisecond. For reference, with the traditional measuring method this would have been a 43.583, which is still a whole second faster than my previous public PB, but a bit slower than reality. After extensive testing, it's safe to assume all my old reported times were actually around 16-33 milliseconds higher than reality. I hope I can continue to use this tool going forward, for the sake of factual accuracy!
I currently have no plans to improve this category further. I honestly have no clue how much lower the time can go. I'd say not much, but all my guesses so far have been wrong, so I'll let you guys hypothesize. Either way, I'm happy with the run as it is.
