There are some battles where I have to take the cheap route, but this is not one of them. This is perfectly manageable as long as you have the Fire Ring and enough HP to survive two of his regular attacks. It can be done with less HP too, but then you have to heal way more often. Just hope he doesn't use Aspil too often, since it drains your MP and it's always followed by a regular attack on the same turn. I have no problem using a couple of Elixirs here.
Rules:
1. Solo Rotating Character - Only one character may be used per battle. This can be any character, but no character may be used in more than five boss battles. All optional bosses must be fought.
2. No EXP - Achieved with gameshark codes
3. No Damage Dealing Items

Barret - 3
Tifa - 2
Aerith - 3
Red XIII - 3
Yuffie - 0
Cait Sith - 0
Vincent - 0

You can protect against most of his attacks and get healed by Trine and Demi3, but he uses Beast Sword most frequently, so it can still get a little interesting. Below 40% HP, he will heal himself every turn, but hes got a 50% chance of healing Yuffie if her HP is below 20%.

Yuffie is banned from this challenge because of her much higher level, but Ill let her do these battles. Shes got the Crystal Cross, Gigas Armlet and Cursed Ring, as well as the still level 4 Counter Attack, Elemental=Gravity in the armor and Added Effect linked to Bio and Time in the weapon.
Gorki (0:00) is not a problem, since you can get healed by Demi2.
Shake (0:56) is dangerous because of the Rage Bomber counter, so Stop is a must here.
Chekov (1:36) is nothing to worry about.
Staniv (2:14) can be a little dangerous, but I let him have the first attack, otherwise that limit break would have dealt over 3000 damage. These battles act as pre-emptive battles even though it doesnt look like it.
