Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is a giant middle finger to fans of the original game; a terrible rewrite by hacks made for toddlers who need every twist spelled out. It's just Remake again but with better combat and a terrible Ubisoft-inspired open world.
On the bright side, Squeenix didn't add as much story filler this time. Unfortunately, even in the original, the plot spanning the end of Midgar to the Ancient Capitol is really not that engaging. So, they had one job: faithfully recreate THAT scene. As you could probably tell from the thumbnail, they F'ed it up.
