Hey guys.
Soooo... some things have come to light, and some seriously serious decisions have been made. With the acceptance of the final script by Scott Cawthon and his crew (yeah, we know it was back in November), and the FNAF movie slated to be filmed starting in spring of 2021, I'm putting "Freddy & Friends" on a semi-permanent hiatus.
There are a few reasons for this: The first is that we as a community want to support Scott in all of his endeavors, and shifting the FNAF franchise from video games (okay, yeah, and novels) into a cinema format is a huge deal. Telling *our* story with such a starkly different lore but still using the same characters doesn't support *his* story (and also has the potential to run us into some legal trouble. I wasn't kidding about that.). I always want to put my actions where my heart is, and this is one of the ways to do that.
The reason I'm calling this a semi-permanent hiatus and NOT cancelled (don’t get any ideas) is that it's the movie industry and all kinds of weird things could happen. Maybe it doesn't get made, maybe Hollywood gets hit by a meteor, maybe it gets made and never released. (This is a real thing for a lot of movies.) At that point, I'll look at what's up and decide if we can pick it up again.
In the meantime, we still have this amazing team of writers and voice actors and animators who've thrown their talent into the F&F project, and I'm still looking forward to working with them on other things. While I don’t think we can get around to the main series any time soon, that doesn’t mean I’m pulling the plug on the AU as a whole. I still plan to tell other parts of the story in the form of shorts, songs, and more. This also leaves more time for stand-alone stories or other collabs or other short videos. It's all possible.
In the meantime, this clears up my calendar to work on other things now... ;)
