Fez is considered the spiritual and cultural capital of Morocco. The Medina of Fez is considered as one of the most extensive and best conserved historic towns of the Arab-Muslim world. The unpaved urban space conserves the majority of its original functions and attribute.Over 1,200 years old, it is full of palaces, museums, mosques, fountains, habitations, and tiny small alleyways. It also contains the Chouara Tannery from the 11th century, one of the oldest tanneries in the world.
