„Fascination“ ist der zauberhafte Soundtrack aus dem Films „Love in the afternoon“, einer US-amerikanischen Liebeskomödie von Billy Wilder aus dem Jahr 1957 mit Gary Cooper, Audrey Hepburn und Maurice Chevalier in den Hauptrollen.
Der italienische Musiker Fermo Dante Marchetti hatte die Musik bereits im Jahr 1904 zu einem französichen Text von Maurice de Féraudy komponiert. Doch erst der Film machte diese unvergesslich romantische Melodie erst richtig bekannt.
Im Film erklingt diese wunderschöne romantische Melodie in einer von Streichern gespielten Instrumentalfassung.
Viele bekannte Künstler, darunter Nat King Cole, Dick Jacobs oder David Carroll, haben diesen Song mit dem englisch-sprachigen Text gesungen. So blieb diese herrlich nostalgische Melodie über viele Jahrzehnte hinweg ein erfolgreicher Evergreen, der bis heute nichts von seiner Magie verloren hat.
