You truly have no idea how much Maya changed my life. When I first started to play Bandori I didn't think I would get into it. I was into anime, Vocaloid, and stuff like that but me? Into an idol band? Hah, funny! Well... A bit after playing the game I fell in love. Pastel Palettes had such a cool story and the best songs in the game! However, a member for that band stook out to me. Maya Yamato. She was very different. She was unlike what I had imagined. The other Pastel Palette members can act like the stereotypical idols but she didn't. She was nerdy, weird, and funny! So I grew a liking for her. I'm so glad she took off her glasses, cause if it wasn't for that, she would just be a staff member.
One of her main conflicts is how she's trying her best to be the ideal person or idol. She knows that she is weird. She geeks out at instruments and likes squeezing into tight spaces. I love her for that. The way that she decided to fulfill her ideals instead of others really encouraged me. When I was younger, all I really did was fulfill the ideals of others. I wasn't my own person. I did what I was told. However, Maya made me realize that I'm more than that. I don't have to be the ideal person. I can just be my ideal. Who I want to be.
Today, I'm still trying to find out who I really want to be. What my ideal is. However, thanks to Maya, she made me realize that I'm something more than the orders people give to me. I'm me. I don't have to do anything for anyone. Though I still try my best to fit the ideals of others, I'm still trying to find my ideal. Every day I feel like I reach closer to that goal. So, Maya Yamato, thank you. As I have benefited from your story. Thank you for encouraging me to continue and to be more. If it wasn't for you, I would probably be dead.
