Your energy is your responsibility. Period.
This lesson hit me hard the other night.
After a long day, not enough sleep, and a whole lot of stress, I found myself snapping at my daughter.
It wasn’t a big moment, but still… regret hit instantly. 💔
That night, as I lay in bed replaying the moment, guilt flooded in like a wave.
I spent 90 minutes beating myself up for not being more patient. I even wanted to wake her up just to tell her how much I love her.
Eventually, I had a realization — my frustration wasn’t about her at all.
It was my nervous system crying out for care. The exhaustion, the stress, the overwhelm… it all built up inside me, and instead of taking responsibility for it, I’d let it spill over.
And here’s the thing — this happens in every area of life.
✨ When your business feels stuck, is it really because of the algorithm (or the economy, or whatever story you tell yourself)?
Or is it time to be brutally honest about your consistency, your strategy, and how you’re showing up?
✨ When your relationship feels off, is it really because of what your partner did (or didn’t) do?
Or is it time to pause, reflect, and ask yourself — Am I unintentionally adding to this dynamic? Am I avoiding a tough conversation? Am I being fully honest — with them and with myself?
✨ When you feel snappy, overwhelmed, or like you’re about to break, is it really just that one moment?
Or is it your nervous system waving a red flag, begging you to slow down, breathe, and actually give yourself what you need before you reach breaking point?
🤔
The truth is: nothing changes until we take responsibility.
And I get it — it’s easier to blame circumstances, exhaustion, other people, the market, the economy, the algorithm, or heck, even the stars and the planets. (Mercury retrograde, anyone?!) 🪐
But blame keeps us stuck. Ownership moves us forward.
This is one of the most powerful lessons you can learn in life — and one of the most important things you can model for your children.
So today, I want to ask you: Where in your life do you need to take responsibility? 🤍
