A federal judge has temporarily blocked parts of a new Virginia law designed to limit cooperation between local law enforcement agencies and federal immigration authorities.

However, the ruling allows existing agreements between local agencies and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement to remain in place while the legal challenge moves forward.
