Kansas City Port Authority v. MGE, et. al
Case Type: Environmental/Bio-remediation
Description: The Port Authority of Kansas City, MO claimed that Missouri Gas Energy (MGE), the local natural gas utility company, owned land adjacent to the Missouri River, and this land had deeply polluted areas which were created by coal and gas production plants that had operated throughout much of the early 20th century on the site.
Visualizations Produced:
A series of 2D and 3D animations showing plumes of toxic underground substances under the remains of demolished coal and gas production plants. Layers mapping showed the different deposits at various depths and the specific types of chemical substances that were found.
