As the FCRA Amendment Bill, 2026, comes under parliamentary consideration, Dr. Paul Dhinakaran has joined Christian leaders in raising concerns about its potential impact on Christian institutions and charitable organisations.
On August sixth, the delegation met Union Home Minister Amit Shah, who heard their concerns and assured them that the issues raised would be looked into.
On August tenth, Dr. Paul Dhinakaran led the delegation of like-minded leaders met Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Hon'ble Mr C. Joseph Vijay at CMs office in the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly and raised concerns with regard to the proposed Bill.
Christian representatives also met former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu Mr. M. K. Stalin on this issue.
The appeal is clear: legitimate charitable, educational, medical, humanitarian, and religious activities by the minorities which serve all people including the majority community should not be adversely affected.
We raised our concerns. We were heard. And we continue to seek a fair and careful consideration of the proposed amendments.
