PS - Here is a little backstory to the making of this song. On our way to the salt flats to film this, we were made aware of the story of a local 16 year old girl who was celebrating the end of the school year with friends. She was sitting on a hammock tethered to a large upright landscaping rock. The rock tragically broke and fell on top of her, killing her.
Obviously her family was(is) devastated and we were too. Instantly this song and video took on new meaning, and we structured the video to match these new emotions we were feeling.
Savanna starts the video by herself, left behind by a loved one passing on. Singing a song of comfort to herself. Singing hope for "angels" to come circling. Then that loved one appears (as if in a dream) to sing comfort to her in her time of need. "A world away, but not so far that you can't reach".
As the loved one who passed has to move on, you see Mat slowly disappear behind Savanna, leaving Savanna by herself, but never alone. "You'll always have my love".
Then Savanna walks away into the sunset, but with an added measure of comfort in her journey.
It felt like the message this 16 year old girl would give her grieving family if she could. I hope you feel the peace this song and message intended.
