Just when he was beginning to experience life...this happened, far from home. Not many people are familiar with the fact that the companies of 7th US Cavalry were all together in one place until they assembled for the battle of the Little Bighorn. Prior to moving to Montana in 1873, companies of the 7th served during Reconstruction period in South Carolina and North Carolina to assist in law and order. During this time, soldiers were dying and some were killed. This video focuses on one such soldier who died of suicide and was left behind in a local cemetery in Union, SC.
