The boat takes you through neighbourhoods of poverty and wealth where a giant protects the Sultan's most precious possessions: gems, jewellery and gold coins.
Fata Morgana, opened in 1986 at Efteling, is a classic dark boat ride inspired by 1001 Arabian Nights. Designed by Ton van de Ven, it cost €7 million, features over 140 animatronics, and takes guests through a forbidden city with scenes of poverty, a marketplace, and a sultan’s palace.
