How To Make a Nether Portal without a Diamond Pickaxe!
Learn how to quickly construct a nether portal from scratch in under 3 minutes! Did you know it's possible to create a nether portal out of thin air without having to go and get diamonds in order to create a pickaxe and eventually mine obsidian? Watch this epic to find out how its done! :D
Materials:
Flint & Steel
Bucket full of water
Lava Pool
Video explained:
When we first spawn into the world, the mission is to find the nearest tree. Upon obtaining 3 wood from said tree we venture off to find the nearest cave system. Luckily this cave already had all of the required materials in order to create the portal. We just needed to harvest and smelt 4 iron ores as well as locate gravel to extract flint. After smelting the iron we can use 3 of the 4 ingots to create a bucket and the 4th ingot to create a flint & steel. Now all we need to do is fill the bucket with water and pinpoint a lava pool. Typically surface lava pools are pretty uncommon but to my surprise there was one right next to the mine I was at. The final step is to setup the nether portal frame, we do this by creating a hole in the ground facing away from the lava pool as shown in the video. The dirt from the ground can be used to tower up 3 blocks and start the water. After that, its a simple process of filling in the frame, dragging each block of lava through the bucket and onto the shiny purple stone to complete the majestic nether portal without the use of a single diamond and in record time. :)
