In summer 2018, Ben Jacoby became the fastest man to run the 100 meter sprint on spring loaded stilts
He broke the record at Burning Man in the summer of 2018, with a time of 13.4 seconds.
Ben has been interviewed on various TV shows in relation to his world record attempt and will even be featured in the annual book of Ripley’ Believe it or not in 2021.
In regards to this being an official Guinness Record, it was not an option to bring a Guinness official out to the Burning man festival, so Ben had to provide all of the proof himself, which included: 2 timekeepers, 2 videographers, 1 photographer, 2 local authority officials(witnesses), a Land surveyor and of course to build a valid track.
The stilts Ben used in the official run, are just standard buy off the shelf spring loaded stilts, with no modifications.
