A little video on How To Farm Hexenon / Hexenon Farming Tips that you could find useful. It's basically a compilation of results from some testing and it's not a big surprise that Amalgams drop Hexenons far more frequently.
After plenty of runs, I've found that the average Hexenon pickup per ~15min run at Ganymede is 100. Which ain't too bad and with a Resource Booster you will potentially get far more!
