Mug rugs are a trend in home decor. This video gives an overview of our new, fun and practical knit project: a farmhouse-style knitted mug rug. This charming rustic mug rug is the perfect companion to use at snack time.

This knitted mug rug pattern features streaks of purl stitch accents on a stockinette stitch front. The stockinette stitch is ideal for mug rugs since it lays flat. Even though the stockinette stitch makes a flat fabric, it tends to curl at the edges. To prevent this, we've added a border of garter stitches that frames the knit mug rug and prevents curling.
