ShinRa had its way of getting rid of things that were meant to be discarded and how to keep their secrets hidden by getting rid of those that could reveal them. One secret was the Project that had made the SOLDIERs, Angeal and Genesis into mere monsters; its exterminator and naive young fool was Zack Fair. At Angeal's side, the young man watched as his Mentor was fading before his eyes.

"...Zack," her voice was a faltering and fleeting thing as she watched with saddened eyes as the man disappeared, "...I never got to tell you my real name...it's..."
Even that would fall on deaf ears as off on a far plane of the outskirting desert of Midgar, shots rang out as the young SOLDIERs life was taken away.
But in the final moments, a fleeting whisper of his voice could be heard in the ears of the tear stained face blond who had followed his every step from the start of their friendship to the utter end.
"...Because Cloud...this is not...our farewell..."
