Fantasia Coloring Book Flipthrough has a variety of Fantasy Art, published in 2016. Fantasia by Nicholas F. Chandrawienata, also known as Nick Filbert, is a fantasy adult coloring book filled with grayscale portraits, mythical beasts and some mythology. This video shares a book flip through of the Fantasia book, background on the illustrator, and I select my top 3 designs in the book, using my personal Color at First Sight system.
Nicholas F. Chandrawienata’s unique illustration style blends fantasy storytelling, intricate detail, and expressive characters. Published in 2016, Fantasia features beautiful grayscale portraits with mythological, animal, and fantasy influences.
About the Illustrator
Nicholas began his career in 2013 at one of Indonesia’s top illustration studios, later transitioning to freelance in 2015. His books like, Lorraine, Serene and Fantasia show why he’s earned a loyal following.
My “Color at First Sight” Method
At the end of the video, I picked my Top 3 favorite designs so I did this for the book flipthroughs back when I started coloring. Here is the old system, which I may get back to in 2025! This method actually saves time, reduces anyone from getting overwhelmed because when you pick up that book, you only flip through the top 3 designs.It also keeps you connected to the first spark of inspiration you felt when you first opened the book. Here's the old system if you want to give it a try:
#1 FIRST FLIPTHROUGH - any designs that instantly catch your eye. Place a bookmark in them.
#2 PICK 3 FAVORITES, by going back through the bookmarks and select only three designs that
spark the most excitement.
#3 BOOKMARK THE TOP 3 FAVORITES and store the book as normal.
#4 RETURN TO BOOK LATER. Flip to the bookmarked pages. If they dont speak to you, find another
book you with the bookmarks and color!
